Good Friday is
a religious
holiday observed
by Christians
commemorating the
crucifixion of Jesus Christ and
his death at Calvary.
The holiday is observed during Holy
Week as
part of the Paschal
Triduum on
the Friday preceding Easter
Sunday.
Passion and Death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross.
There are crosses in churches and many Christians wear a cross on a chain.
At Easter people eat hot cross buns which have a cross shape on the top. The
church is left dark and there is just a simple cross on the altar. It is
known as Good Friday because Christians believe that Jesus gave up his life
for the good of everyone Good Friday is a sad day and churches never have
flowers or decorations on this day.
He
did not seek the fast and easy way out of suffering, but that he held on to
life and pain until
you and I were cleansed from sin, and saved.
But we will
only be saved from sin
if we truly regret our wicked acts, do what little we
can to repair the damages we made through our sin,
and cry unto the Lord for
mercy.
Think for a moment how he kept his life
going
under the worst pain
imaginable,
just so that he should be able to save
us.
Do you think that he
is inclined to listen when we
cry unto him?
The answer should be easy,
knowing that Jesus
gave his life!
